Rpi3 and jackd freezes

Postby Katagia » Sun Mar 04, 2018 1:39 pm

Hi

I want to use a UMC204HD from Behringer with my raspberry pi3.
Distribution is Raspberry
The deivce is detected fine:

Code: Select all

Feb 25 20:07:58 musicbox kernel: [  346.935487] usb 1-1.2: new high-speed USB device number 16 using dwc_otg
Feb 25 20:07:58 musicbox kernel: [  347.065948] usb 1-1.2: New USB device found, idVendor=1397, idProduct=0508

Feb 25 20:08:00 musicbox mtp-probe: bus: 1, device: 16 was not an MTP device

I've installed jackd2, guitarix and rakarrack with apt-get from default repositories.
I use the following command line to start jackd:

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/jackd -s -P70 -t5000 -dalsa -r44100 -p256 -n3 -M -D -Chw:U192k -Phw:U192k

Unfortunatly after a while the system freezes after a while in 95% of the cases. One time I had luck to get some output in /var/log/messages:

Code: Select all

I tried the following things without success:
* Different configurations of jackd
* Additional USB hub with separate power supply
* Custom build realtime kernel

I have no idea how jackd make the linux kernel crash.
Any idea how to proceed?

Thank you very much.
