Re: MACos Cubase send midi to another app

I’m not a mac owner but internet searching shows apparently there is an Audio MIDI setup application.

And there is an IAC driver for inter app communication

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com

I have nothing against the idea of sponsorship, I work for an organisation that sponsors a goodly number of various charities and communities. If MOD Devices want to support a community, well it's their money, they're being generous and that's fine. But as with most things on the internet, there is ...

Your limits.conf is basically empty as every line is commented. You should include the two important lines as described here: https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration#limitsconfaudioconf What distro are you running? You might also read: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&...

Re: Best synths?

I like setBFree. Gigged with it for a couple of years and still prefer it’s slightly more crunchy sound and Leslie sim over my vastly more convenient VR-09.

Re: Alesis V-Series Editor

Excellent piece of work! Thanks for continuing it.

Works fine on my VMini. "Load from device" opens a whole new window each time which is a little unexpected. I'm not sure if that was intentional.

Re: Alesis V-Series Editor

Glad you're finding it helpful. The original author states that it was designed to be extended to incorporate other models but it wasn't obvious to me how to do that so I just retrofitted the original for my mini. I was fortunate I had a windows vm I could snoop on the usb with. Unfortunately the or...

Ctrlr

Has anyone got this to compile recently? I'm trying to build tag 5.4 on Fedora 27 and I'm having no luck.

If I try the precompiled version it steadfastly refuses to show any menus.

This is my build output

Re: Jack Interface Numbering?

I don't know how to do it with Ardour but using qjackctl you can use regular expressions in the patchbay definitions. Edit your plug so it's 'midi_capture_.*'

Re: Why Do You Write Your Own Music?

Wait... You don't have to write your own music? How did I not know this? Oh thank goodness! I'm free! I'm going to dedicate my life to only playing scales while using every different setting on my synths and plugins. True undiluted expression!

Open Source and the new Korg Prologue

Korg announced the new Prologue this week. They have an user definable oscillator feature which is described as
a open-source mode in which you can build your own user oscillator. Stock, it defaults to a morphing wavetable

Re: Audacity and Jack -- reliable patchbay connection??

I had a go with this today, This worked for me, I tested up to the pair 'out_108' & 'out_109'. out_.*[02468]$ out_.*[13579]$ I'm pretty sure preceding the regex with 'd' is meaningless. '*' means "zero or more of the previous character" so it matches '', 'd', 'dd' and 'ddddddddddddd'. ...

Re: Recording my Roland TD-11 drums in Linux Mint 18.2

If you have a go with Audacity you’ll probably be able to record the drums. The TD-11 usb audio won’t come out of the computer speakers if the computer is sending it’s output to the TD-11. The TD-11 will appear as a sound card to pulse and alsa. Try using alsamixer to see if there is a loop back mod...
