Re: Haven: Keep Watch - Snowden’s New App (GPLv3)

There's nothing more that needs to be read or understood apart from the simple, basic, universal truth that Android is a spy platform designed and built from the ground up by Google (who has very close connections to the Pentagon & CIA) to spy on and collect intel on you. 24/7/365. That is just...

Re: Improve performance and reduce latency

I am using Cadence, any idea on how to get the output with it? Not sure, maybe just make a screenshot of the window. Which surprised me a lot, considering it's an internal audio card! Not entirely surprising actually. Let's have a look at iRQs, maybe we can do something with prioritization. Do you ...

Re: Copying to lv2/ folder insufficient to install plugin?

Copying the whole directory that terminates in .lv2 to /usr/lib/lv2 or ~/.lv2 normally works. That's how I use pianoteq. Make sure you scan for new plugins on your host. You can use lv2ls to check if the plugins are installed. For example: lv2ls | grep pianoteq Returns this on my system: http://pian...

Re: Soloist with computer accompaniment

I found this video online which has very good examples of AI composition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J5bDQHQR1g

I don't quite agree that AI will turn humans obsolete though, for various reasons, in contrast to the tone of the video.

Re: Improve performance and reduce latency

I see that the most important settings for low latency audio are all properly tuned. You might want to follow the links at the not-goot outputs and configure the system according to the instructions. Let's leave the realtime kernel out for now, and maybe tune the CPU to performance only while during...

Re: Improve performance and reduce latency

Hi!

I think the first port of call is realTimeConfigQuickScan: https://github.com/raboof/realtimeconfigquickscan

Run it and post the output back here.

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com

Maybe let's just leave it for a few days and think about it later with a relaxed mind. I don't think a decision has to be done in the next incoming mircoseconds really. My point of view is: I have not really much against MOD sponsoring the site, + maybe it is possible to find a common ground with th...

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com

At least in Germany (and probably in Europe) placing one single ad on a website turns it legally into a commercial site. That's something totally worth to keep in mind, especially in the context of the incoming EU copyright reform, which operates a distinction between commercial sites and not comme...

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com

Likewise. While I don't feel strongly about advertising, I respect falkTX's position and value his contribution to the community/forum far more highly than any sponsor. +1 How about implement it in the header, but, only on the main page, and only for not login users. I mean then it could be a banne...

Re: Advice on Stereo to Mono

It should work. If your amp output impedance is small, and the input impedance of the load is high, then you essentially sum the voltages like that. That said, it might not work otherwise, as it might force the output stage to drive too much current, you might have very poor audio and distortion. I ...

Could it be a solution to have the ad displaying only in the Marketplace section?

Re: Soloist with computer accompaniment

I think that intuition is sort of more akin to inspiration than to logic, however. WordReference kind of supports this idea: Intuition "direct perception of truth, fact, etc. independent of any reasoning process"... Aw yeah. I think I am a bit biased maybe by the meaning that intuition ha...

Re: Soloist with computer accompaniment

When I learned how to improvise, quoting my guitar teacher, I built a "vocabulary of musical phrases", to use to build "sentences", and, overall, a "story". I learned by listening to others, both consciously (wow! this dude is amazing! let me understand what is he doing...

Re: Recording without DAW

I have no idea if Linux is good at this sort of thing. As a communications software developer, I have numerous Linux machines but I have no idea what the driver situation is for recording high res audio. Obviously even a single dropout in any recording ever would completely disqualify the solution....

He wants no GUI programs. In essence, he would like to have a "recording service" which runs without any need for GUIs.
